Technicians, Assistants and Client Service Representatives!

Newtown Veterinary Specialists is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians, Assistants and Client Service Representatives to join the team at our progressive, 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital in Newtown, CT.  Together with our team of highly skilled emergency doctors and board-certified specialists, our team enjoys the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills every day and are used to their fullest capacity. We are now accepting applications for the following (day, evening & overnight) technical positions:
• Emergency/Critical Care
• Internal Medicine
• Oncology
• Cardiology
• Surgery

Competitive candidates will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and will have previous specialty and/or emergency experience. Please note these positions are not entry level and candidates must be confident in performing essential clinical skills such as venipuncture, catheterization, radiology, patient assessments, record-keeping and all aspects of anesthesia and surgical monitoring.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant
• A strong work ethic and good organizational and multi-tasking skills
• A professional and respectful demeanor
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Credentialed technicians preferred

Newtown Veterinary Specialists (NVS) is a multidisciplinary small animal referral and emergency hospital located in Newtown, CT. Our growing team of specialists includes surgery, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, behavior and emergency/critical care. The facility is housed in a newly renovated 15,000 square foot building. The hospital offers a wide range of diagnostics including CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, as well as advanced surgical and ophthalmological procedures.

Fairfield County, Connecticut is among the highest-income counties in the United States, which makes Connecticut one of the most affluent states in the country. The area boasts excellent school systems, great cultural activities, and is in close proximity to many beaches and lakes.
