VMD, Diplomate, ACVIM Cardiology
Dr. Justin Carlson earned his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania, receiving the prestigious Everingham Prize for Cardiology. Following a rotating internship as well as a cardiology internship, he completed a cardiology residency at Texas A&M University. He was board certified in cardiology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2013, and has since been practicing in NYC and Connecticut.
Dr. Carlson enjoys all aspects of small animal cardiology, but his special interests include the treatment of refractory congestive heart failure, and interventional cardiology. Together with his talent and training, Dr. Carlson brings incredible passion and compassion. He believes that much can be done to manage the cardiology patient at home, and at the primary veterinarian practice, and is happy to consult on and co-manage these patients. He is always easily accessible to both veterinarians and clients, and believes that these strong lines of communication are integral to optimal patient care.
In his down time, Justin is a fitness enthusiast: rock climbing, skiing, participating in athletic competitions, and running with his Vizala and Rhodesian Ridgeback.
